Lenovo’s subsidiary ZUK which focuses on launching affordable priced Smartphones has been non-operational for quite a long time after the launch of ZUK Edge. However, there were rumors of coming of a new smartphone from the company later this year – ZUK Z3 successor to the Lenovo ZUK Z2.
Chang Cheng, who is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at ZUK recently posted an image of a new smartphone on the Chinese microblogging site Weibo. The image shows a metal bodied smartphone with reflective curved back and Lenovo branding.
The image shows the smartphone having Lenovo branding instead of ZUK which could hint that smartphone will be Lenovo’s next launch although nothing has been confirmed yet. No details regarding the device are available at the moment.
Chang Cheng, Vice President of Lenovo Group, just got transferred to the company’s Mobile Business Group in China and is now on responsible for the product organization, and research in the country. The news also hinted the return of the company’s sub-brand ZUK.
According to some recent reports that were surfacing the internet since last week suggest that the Lenovo subsidiary might make a comeback in April with the company’s much delayed ZUK Z3. Some posters with a message which read “April 23” appeared on the internet which might be the date when the company will launch the Lenovo ZUK Z3 smartphone.
The last smartphone, which was launched by the company was Lenovo ZUK Edge which has a 5.5inch Full HD display protected by the Corning Gorilla glass 3, powered by Snapdragon 821 chipset coupled with 4GB/6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory along with a non-removable 3,100mAh battery.
