Google’s Pixel devices are the only one which gets the next version of Android before others, but as a Developer preview, before the final AOSP rolls out officially. However, Xiaomi’s is looking to do the same thing for it’s Mi Mix 2s, which was launched recently. A developer preview 1 based on Android P 9.0 will be made available for the Mi MiX 2s by 9th May, and this was announced on MIUI forums. However, the post was immediately taken down.
But eagle eye’s at FunkyHuawei.club discovered an Android P 9.0 Developer Preview 1 firmware for the Mi Mix 2s, which adds more credibility that Xiaomi is looking to provide a Google Pixel like treatment for its high-end devices. Apart from that, the future of the Android P 9.0 DP1 for the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s also depends on how well the testing goes. A buggy Developer preview is not everyone’s taste, and at least the essential parts should work.
It now looks like Xiaomi’s and Google’s relationship is ever growing rapid, as now recently as per new reports it is said that Google and Xiaomi are working on two new Android One devices, after the immense success of Mi A1. And now this news comes out, only tells the bonding from here now will be good, and Xiaomi users can expect some good results and exciting software and hardware, being prepped by both tech giants.
Lastly, a Motorola Moto Z 2016 was also spotted running on Android P 9.0 OS by an XDA developer’s wizardry code and was working quite well.
