The Chinese smartphone company Xiaomi has already confirmed the launch date of their upcoming budget phone, the successor to the Redmi 5, that is the Redmi 6 in a video posted on Weibo. According to it, the device will be launching on 12th of June, at one of their event in China and more importantly, the device has been surfing on TENAA for quite a long time further confirming the imminent launch.
This time the company is also emphasizing “lag-free performance” which means that the device will offer a lag-free user experience even with the longer time of usage. It is also expected that the company is planning to bring three distinct Redmi 6 variants, among which one of them will be the standard Redmi 6, and the other two will be Redmi 6A & Redmi 6 plus/pro.
Despite the official announcement, the company didn’t tease any details regarding its specification, pricing & availability. Although there are some speculated specifications and other details about the device which were figured out from the several leaks that are surfing the web.
It is rumored that the device will flaunt a 5.45-inch HD+ (720×1440 pixels) display along with an 18:9 aspect ratio. Regarding performance, the device will be equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset, and which will be paired with 2GB/ 3GB/ 4GB of RAM and 16GB/ 32GB/ 64GB of onboard storage.
However, it is to note that, as already mentioned there will also be another variant of Redmi 6 and it is also speculated that there might also be a 5.84-inch full-HD+ display that has a 19:9 aspect ratio.
According to other reports, it is found that the plus variant might come with a dual selfie camera setup consisting of 12-megapixel and 5-megapixel sensors, and pretty much everything will be powered by a massive 4000mAh battery. The devices are also expected to come with Android 8.0 Oreo underneath the yet unspecified version of MIUI out of the box.
Overall there will be three devices, a cheaper version of this will be Redmi 6A & also there will be an upgraded version of it which will be the Redmi 6 Plus/Pro. Till now these are all rumored specs and can’t be considered as confirmed details, so take it as with a pinch of salt.
