Vivo X20 Plus UD which is expected to be the world’s first device to come with an in-display fingerprint scanner might go on sale at the end of this month for 3,698 Yuan which is around $520.
At this year’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2018) Vivo showcased the prototype of the world’s first phone with under display fingerprint scanner. However, the company has not yet revealed the price and specs of the device.
According to recent reports, the Chinese manufacturer has already started the mass production of the device. We were expecting the company to announce the device at this year’s Mobile World Congress (MWC 2018), but now it looks like the company might announce the device even sooner than expected. The latest reports suggest that the Vivo X20 Plus UD will go on sale at the end of this month.
Alex Feng, Senior Vice President at Vivo, has revealed that the device will be announced in early 2018. He further added that the device would provide a more comfortable and convenient authentication process. The fingerprint scanner will be placed on the glass panel and the OLED display panel.
The device recently received 3C certification. According to recent reports, the device might have a 6.43inch full-screen display with 18:9 aspect ratio, Powered by Snapdragon 660 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal memory along with a 3,900mAh battery.
The only major concern about the device is the speed of the in-display fingerprint scanner, which according to the prototype showcased at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2018) takes 0.6 – 0.7 seconds, which is a bit slower than the regular fingerprint scanners out there in the market.
