Popular messaging backup app SMS Backup+ gets a new major update after two years of its existence. The last update it got was in 2015, and after that, we haven’t seen anything for the app until today. The latest update for the SMS Backup+ brings yes; you guessed it right a brand new modern UI suitable with 2017-2018 standards as well as a bunch of new features to play with.

Starting with the use of material design and new fresh colors are welcomed, along with updated notification images. Next, better security with Replaced WebView auth with the browsers, and a simplified IMAP search logic, which also further makes timeouts a little more aggressively, this also applies to the connection retry error.

You also get optional triggers for call logs both incoming and outgoing calls and now backup process does its thing in the background. Apart from that, it is now updated with the Korean language translation, and other nifty bug fixes and overall apps stability should now be much better.

Android already has a built-in backup system for messages, however, with the SMS Backup+ you can even backup MMS. Another thing here is to note that, SMS backup might not work reliably if you have installed it on your Android phone’s SD-card. Lastly, a future fix for the sd-card installation is promised, and we hope it doesn’t take more than two years.
