One of the world’s first 5G phones will be coming to the US from Samsung and Verizon.
According to both companies, they are planning to bring a smartphone that will be able to support next-generation cellular technology which is 5G to the US market in 2019. There aren’t many details about the specs of the device, the price of the device or what will it look like.
But according to several reports, both companies in the past were in talks to bring a 5G version of the upcoming Galaxy S10 to the US.
Next week is going to be very important for this 5G device as both the Samsung and Verizon are planning to reveal more info about this device at Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Technology Summit in Hawaii.
The phone features will feature Qualcomm’s mobile processor, as well as the Snapdragon X50 5G NR modem and Qualcomm antenna modules.
This will be Samsung’s second major 5G showcase in less than a week. South Korean phone carriers SK Telecom, KT, and LG Uplus all released the next generation cellular tech 5G networks over the weekend.
