OnePlus terminates the OxygenOS 5.0 (Android Oreo) update for the OnePlus 5

OnePlus recently rolled out a new update for the OnePlus 3/3T device which was the Android 8.0 Oreo update. The same OxygenOS update has been rolled out for the OnePlus 5 smartphone, and today we are back with a new piece of information for all the OnePlus 5 users.  OnePlus has now posted that due to some issues the OxygenOS 5.0 rollout for the device has been canceled, so let’s check out more information about this.

We know that all the OnePlus 5 users were very excited about this upgrade, but recently a OnePlus staff member has posted on their forums that the software rollout process has been stopped for now as according to them the update contains a bug which is not shared by them. So for us, the bug is still unknown, what we know so far is that OnePlus will release a new update which will replace the OxygenOS 5.0 update and according to them it is the OxygenOS 5.1.

So it is a sad as well as good news for the OnePlus 5 users, the good is that a new update will soon be rolling out which will be more stable and will feature additional functionality with zero issues. In case you are waiting for the Oreo update on your OnePlus 5T, then let me tell you that at present the Android 8.0 Oreo beta has been started for it which means the official update is still a few weeks away from us. Now it looks OnePlus will rollout the OxygenOS 5.1 for the OnePlus 5T as well.
