Some recent reports suggested that HMD Global is working on its first Android Go Smartphone which might be called the Nokia 1. The smartphone will be running on a lighter version of Android Oreo with lighter apps such as Google Go, Google Maps Go, and Files Go, etc. It is expected that the company would release the smartphone at this year’s Mobile World Congress. Some leaked photos of the Nokia 1 has been just surfaced on the internet.
A Baidu user recently posted two photos of the Nokia 1 smartphone. The leaked images only show the back side of the device. One of the leaked pictures show the camera and LED flash covered by polycarbonate material while the other one shows the camera and flash being covered by glass. This means that HMD has not yet finalized the design of the Nokia 1. Other than the camera and the flash module the smartphone is expected come with rounded corners, polycarbonate back and Nokia logo placed symmetrically on the back of the device in the middle as we have seen with the Nokia phones of last year.
Although Nokia hasn’t released any official details regarding the smartphone, according to some recent leaks it will be among the first Android Go Smartphones and might be priced at RUB 5,990 ( Rs. 6,500 approx). The leaks also suggest that the device will be having a 720P display, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory.
HMD Global is also expected to launch it’s flagship smartphone the Nokia 9 during an event on 19th January.
