Nokia 6 (2018) Launched in China: Specifications, Features, Price

Nokia marked their return to the smartphone market by launching the Nokia 6 back in January 2017; now the company has launched the 2nd generation of Nokia 6 with improved specifications.

Regarding specs, the Nokia (2018) is having a 5.5inch IPS LCD with a pixel resolution of 1920×1080, Snapdragon 630 octa-core processor clocked at 2.2GHz with 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 32/64GB of internal memory expandable up to 128GB via a micro SD card.

Coming to the camera, the device has a 16MP rear camera with a f/2.0 aperture and a dual tone LED flash. In front, the device has an 8MP camera with a f/2.0 aperture and an 84-degree wide lens along with a 3,000mAh battery which supports fast charging.

The Nokia 6 (2018) is having all the same sensors as its predecessor. The device retains the 16:9 ratio, but the placement of the fingerprint scanner has been changed to the back of the device instead of the front. The device will be running on android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box with Android 8.0 Oreo update coming soon.

The connectivity features of the device include USB-C, Bluetooth 5.0, 3.5mm headphone jack, 4 LTE modem and WiFi. The Nokia 6 (2017) had NFC support, but the official listing for Nokia 6 (2018) doesn’t mention anything about the NFC capability of the device.

The Nokia 6 (2018) measures 148.8 x 75.8 x 8.15mm which means it’s slightly thicker and shorter than the original Nokia 6. The device will be available in two color options – Black, and Silver. The device is made up of 6000 series aluminum the same material Apple used for the iPhone 6.

The 32GB variant of the Nokia 6 (2018) is priced at 1,499 Yuan ($232), and the 64GB variant is priced at 1,699 Yuan ($262). The smartphone will be exclusively available through Suning in China. The device is currently up for reservations in China and will go on sale from 10 January.

HMD Global till now has given no word on the smartphone’s launch in the Indian market. The smartphone will face some competition from phones such as Xiaomi Mi A1 and Honor 7X.
