Micromax Bharat Go, The First Android Go Smartphone To Launch In January

According to some recent reports, the Indian manufacturer Micromax is planning to launch an Android Go smartphone in India. The reports also suggest that the upcoming smartphone will come with an ultra-low price tag. Micromax has confirmed the following details and that the smartphone will be called Micromax Bharat Go.

The smartphone will be running on Android Oreo Go Edition, which is a lighter version of Android Oreo with lighter apps such as Google maps go, files go, etc. Google announced the project in May last year with its rollout starting at the Google for India event in December.

Chipset makers such as Qualcomm and MediaTek have already announced that they are working on processors specially optimized for Android Oreo Go Edition smartphones so it will be interesting to see which chipset Micromax will be using for its upcoming Android Go smartphone.

As of now, Micromax didn’t mention anything about the pricing of the upcoming smartphone, but they did say that “Taking its mission of connecting the unconnected ahead and providing the best in class mobility devices. Micromax will introduce BHARAT GO to deliver an optimized Android experience as an entry-level smartphone to millions of Indian consumers”.

The Micromax Bharat Go will get unveiled by the end of this month and is expected to come with entry-level specifications at a very low price tag.
