Today, AndroidHeadlines exclusively reported that the LG Watch Timepiece hybrid smartwatch would be the next smartwatch from LG Electronics. At a glance, this will be the first smartwatch that will be running on Wear OS by Google out of the box.
So what’s all in the world is Hybrid about? In this smartwatch, LG is combining the OS and the apps running on it with the mechanical clock setup. Making it the possibility of having the best of both worlds. You got your analog style on one side whereas you get the digital style at the same time. Leaving that on the one hand, the LG Watch Timepiece comes with a stainless steel body. And also comes with IP68 water and dust resistance certification. As mentioned earlier, the smartwatch will have a mechanical clock. Thus, LG has used some quality Quartz material in making the hands of the clock.
So what’s the use of having a hybrid smartwatch? Using the analog style most of the time, you would be ensured of using less battery. For your surprise, the battery could last up to a 100 days with Wear OS disabled completely otherwise a day for sure. The display, on the other hand, is a 1.2 inches LCD with a resolution of 360 x 360 pixels. Looking at the size, it comes at 45.5 x 45.4 x 12.9 mm. The smartwatch will be equipped with a 4GB of internal memory, 768 MB of LPDDR3 RAM, and would be running on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 2100 chipset.
On the connectivity part, we don’t have LTE support, but there are Wifi and Bluetooth on board like any other smartwatch. The LG Watch Timepiece may be launching on Monday in the Aurora Black and Cloud Silver colors. We don’t expect a very high price for its new hybrid system but what do you guys think of it? Go ahead and take a wild guess.
