HTC U12 has been in leaks in since months now, and as we get closer to the launch date of the device, more details surface online. And now the HTC U12 has an official launch date, that’s on 23rd of May 2018, which was today tweeted by HTC. The invitation image shows the HTC U12 disassembled and the internal hardware parts are all over the place, which is now claimed to showcase some internal parts of an iPhone 6. HTC tweeted this with a slogan which says’s “A phone that is more than the sum of its specs.”
And if you ask me this purely hints that this time HTC has diverted its focus on to the software side of things, instead of making the spec sheet look good. And it might surely be some AI stuff, which everyone is doing nowadays to be in the trend. The U12/U12+ as per the leaks already looks like an LG V series device from the rear. Apart from that, as you can see in the invitation image, in the disassembled parts; you can see the battery seems quite large, but it could be that it may be a thin one.
However, let’s move on to the expected specs, that we have heard from numerous leaks so far. The HTC U12 flagship will be powered by a Snapdragon 845 without any doubt, and 4GB or 6GB of RAM is in the cards. The Dual-Camera setup on the front and the rear as well is rumored. While the front side will have a 12 MP and a 16 MP sensor with f-stop 1.5 aperture, while the front packs an 8MP pair. A 5.7-inch QHD Super LCD without a notch will dominate the front side. We hope to see an AMOLED panel instead with 19:9 ratio.
The Battery on the HTC U12+ is said to be a 3420mAh power pack, along with that the U12 will have IP68 ratings as well. Overall the device looks promising if only if it’s priced right, that’s under $699.
