Slider phones are coming back and being revived again. It is the latest trend that some Chinese smartphone makers have tried pushing.
Based on the reaction of the Android community, we can say that many people have loved the sliding mechanism over display notches.
The major advantage of the slider in a smartphone is that you will have a high screen-to-body ratio, as found in the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 and Honor Magic 2.
Both devices have the same mechanism of retractable front-facing cameras, but the Mi Mix 3’s software allows you to change what the sliding down is going to do. The Honor Magic 2’s latest update, adds much more improvement to sliding mechanism.
For those who aren’t a big fan of selfies, the sliding mechanism is an amazing way to decrease bezels without a display cutout.
During the announcement of the Honor Magic 2, Honor said we would be able to open the camera app to the front-facing camera by sliding down the phone.
This feature wasn’t present at the time of release, but the latest EMUI update has resulted in the addition of this feature to the “slide down screen” settings under “Smart Assistance.”
Let’s hope that this feature is going to be loved by people.
