Huawei’s Hi-Silicon Kirin 970 beats Snapdragon 835 in Benchmarks

Huawei has recently launched its 2017 Flagships known as the Huawei Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro; the device comes powered by the all-new Kirin 970 Processor which compete against the likes of Snapdragon 845, Apple A11, etc. This new processor developed by Hi-Silicon was recently benchmarked, and the scores are mind blowing as compared to the current competition, so let’s check out more about these processors.

Qualcomm has recently revealed its latest Snapdragon 845 Chipset which is currently the fastest Qualcomm processor in the market but still in the Single-Core score it is ranked below the Apple’s A11 Bionic chip. On the other hand, Hi-Silicon Kirin 970 processor is used by the Mate 10-series devices, and it is an Octa-Core chipset which offers the functionality of NPU(Neural Processing Unit) that helps the processor to perform AI tasks in a better way.

Recently the Kirin 970 processor got benchmarked, and it has achieved a reputable score of 213258 which is better then that of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, both chipsets belong to 2017, but Snapdragon 835 was launched earlier. The Snapdragon 835 focuses more on battery optimization along with the performance while the Kirin 970 is an updated SoC and is better in some areas when compared to the Qualcomm processors. Although it is worth mentioning that a better score in benchmarks doesn’t mean that in real-time as well the device will perform better, benchmark indicates us the raw performance of a device while real-time scenario depends upon the optimization done by the brands and its biggest example is Apple A-series chip.

We expect that in future with the updates this performance issue will get fixed on the Snapdragon 835.
