Google Assistant Gets ‘Getting Around’ Option For Transportation

Google is rolling out a new Transportation preference feature for its Google assistant. A new option known as ‘Getting Around’ which allows you to set your daily mode of transport and other commute.

You can find the ‘Getting Around’ Option by heading towards assistant’s settings then preferences below weather and assistant voice. The option was available to only some users, but now it’s been rolling out to the masses. With this new option the assistant can tell the best way of getting to your office and around the city.

While setting up the new option google asks “How do you get to work most days?” and “How do you usually get around?” with the following options – Walking, Car, Bike or take a public transport. With the first question Google determines which daily mode of transport the person usually uses to travel to work place while the other one is only for giving directions to places other than home and work.

The feature is still rolling out to many devices, both the latest and the beta version of the Google app so there might be a chance that you might not have received the update yet.
